EXPLORERS
The Habersham County Sheriff’s Office Explorer Program provides students with a hands-on introduction to the law enforcement profession. Participants train alongside deputies, gaining real-world experience with the tools, techniques, and responsibilities used in daily operations.
This program is open to students in grades 9–12 (ages 14 and older) who are interested in leadership, teamwork, and community service, as well as exploring a future career in law enforcement.

Explorers receive structured training in areas such as building clearing, basic self-defense, Georgia law, evidence collection, traffic direction, and more.

In addition to training, participants take part in community service projects and develop important life skills including discipline, professionalism, and confidence.

The program emphasizes mentorship from law enforcement professionals while helping students build a strong foundation for future success.

Applications for Explorer Post 510 are available at the Habersham Ninth Grade Academy and the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office.
