Criminal Records Division

The primary functions of the Criminal Records Division shall be the collection, review, control, maintenance, accountability and retrieval of offense and complaint reports as well as traffic accident reports, fingerprint cards, field interview cards and warning citations or any other type reports or documents as determined by the Agency or by law. This division is also responsible for the copying and distribution of records to the public, insurance companies, attorneys and other involved agencies. The Criminal Records Division also conducts local background checks for the public.

The Habersham County Records Division is open Monday through Friday 8:00am to 6:00pm except weekends and holidays. Cost: Incident report $3.00

To obtain an accident report, you must complete a form with as much information as possible plus show a valid ID such as Drivers License. Cost: Accident report $3.00

Sex Offender Registration
Location: Habersham County Sheriff's Office 1000 Detention Drive Clarkesville, Ga. 30523

Registration days: Monday through Friday Except weekends and Holidays 8:30am to 3:30pm or call

Who are considered sex offenders?
Sex offenders- person convicted of a criminal offense against a victim who is a minor or any dangerous sexual offense of this state, another state, territory, uniform code of military justice, or tribal court, must register within 72 hours after release from prison, placement on parole, supervised release or probation with the sheriff's office in the county where such person will reside.

Sexually dangerous predator- same as above but is determined most likely to commit another dangerous sexual offense.
