The Habersham County Sheriff's Office is investigating a suspicious incident that occurred at a Church on Dicks Hill Parkway in Mt. Airy.

On Monday, January 31, 2011 at approximately 1:30 PM the Mt. Airy Police at the request of the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office responded to a Church located on Dicks Hill Parkway in Mt. Airy. Upon arrival to the scene the officer was advised by a Church Official that an unknown white male subject entered the church yelling to speak to the Preacher. The Subject handed the Church Official a handwritten anti-religious, anti-government and anti-school letter. The Subject was reported to be speaking in an aggressive manner.

The suspect is described as a white male in his late 40s to early 50s, approximately 5’11”, stocky build, salt and pepper hair shoulder length, normal complexion, having a flat face, wearing a cream colored shirt and blue jeans. The subject was observed leaving the Church in a white Dodge Caravan with a Columbia County Georgia Tag.

On Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at approximately 8:00 PM the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office responded to a different Church also located on Dicks Hill Parkway in Mt. Airy in reference to a vandalism incident. Upon arrival to the scene the Deputy was advised by a Church Member that an unknown person threw a rock through the front window. It is unclear at this time if this is related to the prior incident.

Citizens should be on the lookout for this subject possible hanging around Churches and Schools. The Sheriff's Office is urging local businesses and residents to exercise extra diligence in helping us identify this subject. The Sheriff’s Office advises anyone that sees a subject fitting this description or sees a vehicle that matches the description to Call 9-1-1, exercise extreme caution and do not approach the individual.

Both incidents are currently under investigation by the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division. Anyone with information pertaining to either one of these incidents are urged to call the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office, Criminal Investigation Division at 706-839-1724.

On Tuesday, February 1, 2011 Deputies responded to a burglary on Double Bridge Rd Demorest. Upon arrival to the scene deputies were advised by the home owner that several firearms along with two body armor ballistic vests were stolen from the residence.

The incident is currently under investigation by the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office, Criminal Investigation Division.

On Tuesday, February 1, 2011 Deputies responded to a commercial burglary on Camp Creek Road Mt. Airy. Upon arrival to the scene deputies were advised by the store's owner that an undisclosed amount of jewelry along with several other items were stolen from the building.

The incident is currently under investigation by the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office, Criminal Investigation Division.

The Habersham County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's help in locating a Hispanic male who is wanted for two counts of aggravated child molestation. As a result of the sexual assault, two girls under age 14 have contracted a sexually transmitted disease. The Hispanic male goes by the name Antonio Rodriguez, Diego or possibly Antonio Hernandez. The man is described as being in his early to mid-20s and 150 to 165 pounds. He is roughly five-foot-six to five-foot-eight and has multiple tattoos. There is a tattoo on his right forearm with unknown lettering, the other being a web design on his elbow. The subject also has a letter "A" or "Antonio" tattooed on his neck. There is also a tattoo on the center of his upper back stating "Antonio" going across his back.

Last known locations include the neighborhood behind Appletree Inn Motel in Cornelia, hanging out at the Foodmart, Ingles in Clarkesville and he also has been seen in the area of Robertson Loop Road, Black Oak Circle and Park Place Drive.

Anyone with information or sightings of the suspect should be reported immediately to the Habersham County Dispatch Center at 706-778-3911.

The Governor’s Office of Highway Safety in cooperation with state and local law enforcement agencies has organized regional Traffic Enforcement Networks around the State of Georgia. There are currently sixteen regional traffic enforcement networks servicing all 159 counties in Georgia. The regional networks are open to all sworn law enforcement officers and prosecutors and are designed to enhance traffic enforcement activities through networking, training and legislation. The networks serve as a catalyst for traffic enforcement officers to voice their concerns and share ideas with their counterparts from other agencies in their region. The Coastal Area Traffic Enforcement Network was the second network to be formed by the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety.

Each Law Enforcement Agency in the State of Georgia is encouraged to participate in a regional Traffic Enforcement Network.
