New & ![]() The Habersham County Sheriff's Office is
investigating a suspicious incident that occurred at a
Church on Dicks Hill Parkway in Mt. Airy.
On Tuesday, February 1, 2011 Deputies
responded to a burglary on Double Bridge Rd Demorest. Upon
arrival to the scene deputies were advised by the home owner
that several firearms along with two body armor ballistic vests
were stolen from the residence.

responded to a commercial burglary on Camp Creek Road Mt. Airy.
Upon arrival to the scene deputies were advised by the store's
owner that an undisclosed amount of jewelry along with several
other items were stolen from the building.
The Habersham County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's help in locating a Hispanic male who is wanted for two counts of aggravated child molestation. As a result of the sexual assault, two girls under age 14 have contracted a sexually transmitted disease. The Hispanic male goes by the name Antonio Rodriguez, Diego or possibly Antonio Hernandez. The man is described as being in his early to mid-20s and 150 to 165 pounds. He is roughly five-foot-six to five-foot-eight and has multiple tattoos. There is a tattoo on his right forearm with unknown lettering, the other being a web design on his elbow. The subject also has a letter "A" or "Antonio" tattooed on his neck. There is also a tattoo on the center of his upper back stating "Antonio" going across his back. Last known locations include the neighborhood behind Appletree Inn Motel in Cornelia, hanging out at the Foodmart, Ingles in Clarkesville and he also has been seen in the area of Robertson Loop Road, Black Oak Circle and Park Place Drive. Anyone with information or sightings of the suspect should be reported immediately to the Habersham County Dispatch Center at 706-778-3911.
The Governor’s Office of Highway Safety in cooperation
with state and local law enforcement agencies has
organized regional Traffic Enforcement Networks around
the State of Georgia. There are currently sixteen
regional traffic enforcement networks servicing all 159
counties in Georgia. The regional networks are open to
all sworn law enforcement officers and prosecutors and
are designed to enhance traffic enforcement activities
through networking, training and legislation. The
networks serve as a catalyst for traffic enforcement
officers to voice their concerns and share ideas with
their counterparts from other agencies in their region.
The Coastal Area Traffic Enforcement Network was the
second network to be formed by the Governor’s Office of
Highway Safety.
Each Law Enforcement Agency in the State of Georgia is encouraged to participate in a regional Traffic Enforcement Network. Northeast Traffic Eforcement Network (N.E.T.E.N) consists of eleven counties. They are Hall, Jackson, Banks, Stephens, Rabun, Franklin, Hart, Forsyth, Dawson, White and Habersham The Coordinator for NETEN is MPO Griggs Wall Gainesville Police Department. He is currently assigned to the traffic enforcement unit. The Assistant Coordinator is Capt. James R. Krockum Commander of the Patrol Division of the Habersham County Sheriffs Office Georgia had 18 National Winners this year, including 15 different law enforcement agencies.
